Jesus Lifted Me – Vol 1

Wonderfully Created

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven

From an early age I started searching for the purpose/meaning of life. I will soon be sixty-two years old, and I just recently discovered the answer to the question that has eluded me for all these many years. It is my pleasure to share the answer with you now. The purpose/meaning of life is to glorify God. That is, to live the life God gave you in such a way, that it gives honor and glory to Him. You might say that everyone is different and that some just aren’t capable of doing that. To that I say that God created us all in a unique way and he equipped us all with unique characteristics, experiences, gifts, talents and abilities that would allow us to glorify Him, if we so desire. To prove this point I will attempt to use my own life as an example. I consider the gift of encouragement to be the main gift God bestowed upon me. I also have manic depressive disorder but as it turns out, I stay slightly on the manic side of the the sine-wave most of the time. This fact, plus the fact that I have a wonderful prayer life, where God keeps encouraging me, allows me to turn around and encourage those around me. If you knew the circumstances of my life, you might think that I am an unlikely candidate for God to use as an encourager. I have never felt qualified but, I have always been willing. For example, I came from a very poor family. I took care of my disabled father until I was eighteen when he died and have been caring for my wife for the past forty years who has MS and is bed-ridden. I have also worked as a hospice volunteer and I worked in the shut-in ministry at my church for many years, encouraging the sick and dying who could not leave their homes. So you see, it takes quite a bit to get me down because of the unique way in which God created and gifted me. He did this so that I could give Him glory. I don’t know what your situation is but, I do know, that like Jesus, you are to live your life to bring God honor and glory. Praise the holy name of Jesus!

Wonderfully Created

The things God hath created,

Are wonderful indeed.

He created the mighty mountains,

He created the tiny seeds.

But His crowning achievement,

When all else was through.

Was when at the end.

He created you.

Rise beloved of the Most High,

A joint heir with Christ the King.

Being one of God’s chosen,

Is not a tiny thing.

God didn’t create no junk,

For you with His life He paid.

Created by the most high God,

You were fearfully and wonderfully made.
