Luke 4:15-19 He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
Continued – “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
In these last days, as I look at the insanity all around us, I have great optimism that this new year, will also be a year of the Lord’s favor. That revival, starting with me, will sweep across the world to proclaim good news to the poor, set the prisoners free, restore sight to the blind and to set the oppressed free. Over the last few years, my wife and I have noticed that God is changing the direction of our ministry. Where once we were called to encourage our fellow Christians, we now find ourselves like missionaries in the trenches with those that Satan has so greatly deceived. We are trying to reflect the love of Christ to the drug addicted, the alcoholic and the sexually immoral. We have found that ministering to these types of people is the same as encouraging fellow Christians. You simply love them, love them, and love them some more. And of course a lot of prayer. We have also noticed lately that there is no greater joy than being in God’s will and attempting to do what He has called us to do. For us it is like the carrot in front of the donkey. Please pray for us and pray that God stop the insanity by sending revival in this, as I believe, is a year of God’s favor. Praise the holy name of Jesus!
The Lord’s Favor
Dear Lord I thank you for your grace,
Your grace and love I savor.
I also thank you for the many blessings,
We have received because of your favor.
Now O Lord I earnestly pray,
That you send revival to this land,
That you reach out to your children,
And take them by the hand.
The most powerful force in the universe,
That emanates from God above.
Is the awesome redemptive power,
Of God’s unconditional love.
This same unconditional love,
More valuable than all our wealth.
Must be reflected when we attempt,
To love our neighbor as ourself.
