John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
Rage, hatred and unforgivness are running rampant in society today. It is an indication that those who practice these traits do not have Jesus in their hearts through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. Some who practice these things even claim to be Christians, but in all actuality, perhaps because of their up bringing, they are spiritually dysfunctional. The Bible tells us that you will know them by their fruits. The verse referenced above tells us that the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. If you are not being lead by the Holy Spirit, then you are being lead by Satan. If you have a bitter, unforgiving and angry spirit, then it is a safe bet that you are being lead by Satan. Galatians 5:22-23 tells us, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Even though I am not perfect, I thank God every day for the gift of the Holy Spirit, and I try to apply the fruit of the Spirit, as outlined in Galatians 5:22-23, to my life every day. A life lead by Satan results in constant turmoil while a life lead by the Holy Spirit is filled with peace, joy and contentment. The Holy Spirit is my GPS for getting me to that place where God wants me to be. Praise the holy name of Jesus!
That’s The Spirit
Holy Spirit who lives within my heart,
You strive with me through thick and thin.
Give me power to turn and flee,
Before temptations turn to sin.
Grant me power to focus on Christ,
In order to free me from distress.
My desire is to be a servant of God,
And not a slave to sin and flesh.
Persuade me not to go it alone,
And to surrender my will to you.
Replace my doubt with trust in God,
And strengthen my shattered faith anew.
Holy Spirit this vessel belongs to you,
To do with as you please.
Direct my life along your path,
Take me to Calvary on bended knees.
