Thank You Lord

Today is Thanksgiving Day, and what better day to thank the Lord for all that he has done for us, and to testify about his wonderful deeds. The wonderful things that the Lord has done for my wife and I over the years, are two numerous to tell in this short devotional. Therefore, I would like to take this time to thank the Lord for the most important thing that he has ever done for me. It was that day on Calvary’s cross when he gave up his very own life for me. Over 2000 years later, I had an encounter with our risen Lord while driving down the autobahn in Germany, at 200 km/h. It is that experience, when Christ made himself known to me, and I invited him into my heart, that I am most thankful for. That was over 35 years ago, and the memories of that day, allows me to reject what the world has to offer, and keeps me pressing forward toward the prize that awaits me. I would also like to add, that during these past 35 years, our Lord has also richly blessed us and provided for all our needs. We have also learned over the years, that our Lord wants to fight our battles for us. When trouble comes, I have always been in awe and wonder, as I just sit back and watch as the Lord, masterfully cause all things to work out for our good. All I can do is just sit there and say, “Thank You Lord”! Tomorrow is Black Friday, which signifies the beginning of the Christmas season. I would just like to urge you, that as you shop for that special gift for that special person, that you keep in mind that the most special gift that has ever been given, is when God sent His only begotten Son to this earth, to give hope to all mankind, just like we are told in John 3:16., which says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever should believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life “. Praise the holy name of Jesus!

Thank You Lord

As I sit in quite meditation,

Listening for God’s gentle voice.

Three solitary words from His mouth,

Causes my soul to rejoice.

This is how God encourages me,

And keeps my life on track.

Three little words keep me moving forward,

And prevents me from turning back.

And just what could those three words be,

That makes me know He’ll see me through.

I am content and my soul is at rest

When God says, I love you.

I always try to respond in kind,

Being mindful of His blood that poured.

My response is always tears of joy,

And the three little words, Thank You Lord!
