Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
It has been my experience, that when sin is present in our lives, our thinking becomes divided. This has been true in my life, and I believe it was also true in the life of King David. I have always had an affinity for King David. It is not because I have purposely tried to model my life after his, but it seems as though our lives have taken similar paths, in that we are both men who have always sought after God’s own heart. I also feel that since King David and I are both encouragers, we are both compelled to tell others about how God has and is working in our lives. God has always blessed our efforts of attempting to use the gifts He has given us for His plan and purpose. I realized not too long ago, that God is so very predictable. That is, if we are familiar with how God has worked in the lives of all those people we read about in the Bible, and we realize that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is eternally unchanging, and this is why I have always had the impression, that we are all living the Bible. The Bible tells us, that no sin has overtaken us that isn’t common to man. God has seen it all, over and over again, and He gives us the remedy of how to overcome all these different sins, by showing us how He has worked in the lives of all those people we read about in the pages of the Holy Bible. Recently, events have happened in my life that are so very reminiscent of the story of Job in the Bible. I am not concerned about my future however, because I know how the story in the Bible about Job ends. I have faith, in the fact that God will do the same thing for me, that He also did for old Job. This is also why God compels encouragers, like King David and myself, to tell others about how God is working/has worked in our lives, so that others will have the faith and trust, that if God would do it for us, He will also do the same thing for them. So, as this Job-like story continues to unfold in my life, I will simply keep my focus on Christ and not on the situation, because I know how the story ends, and I know, that God knows the plans He has for my life, plans to not harm me, but to prosper me, and to give me hope and a future. God is good! Praise the holy name of Jesus!
Seeing Akfter God
Seeking after God brings contentment,
More than anything else you can do.
Close your eyes and quite your mind,
He has a message just for you.
Don’t be afraid to listen for God,
Or fear what he might say.
He can express the harshest message,
In a manner that casts all fear away.
When you receive a word from God,
It might be accompanied by a gentle touch.
It’s God’s way of letting you know,
That you are loved so very much.
God is the giver of all good things,
Seek Him out for His will to impart.
He stands ready to heap on you,
The honest desires of your heart.
