Jesus Lifted Me – Vol 1

Faith Or Emotion

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him

I don’t know when it happened, or what we did to deserve it, but it seems like here lately, based on the verse referenced above, that our faith must have increased somewhat, because God has been so richly pouring out his blessings upon my wife and I. Like I said, I don’t know why, or what we did to deserve it. I suppose it’s because of what the Bible tells us, that God will have mercy upon those he chooses to have mercy upon. All we can do is say thank you, and lift up praises to his holy name. To give you an idea of what’s been going on over the past couple months, and I will not go into all the details, but my wife became very ill because of a drug interaction problem, which triggered other problems, which required her to see several different medical specialists over the past several weeks. One by one, all these problems and issues fell by the wayside, as a result of God’s great love and mercy. Before we left today for her final appointment with the last specialist, I told her not to worry, that this one would be just like all the others that simply fell by the wayside. And that is exactly what happened, praise God! It reminded me of the many stories in the Bible, about how God wants to fight our battles for us. Not only has God rewarded us physically over the past several weeks, but he has also rewarded us monetarily and spiritually. I’m sure you’ve read the verses in the Bible about how many choose the wide path that leads to destruction, while few choose the narrow path that leads to eternal life. In my mind, what these verses boil down to, is that the vast majority of people place their faith in the world, and the world system to get their needs met, while few place their faith in Almighty God. For anyone who reads this, I would just like to say that God does what he says he will do. So many are selling their souls to the devil in order to try and get ahead, when what they really should do is place their trust and faith in God, and let him fight their battles for them and provide for their needs. I think we must all at some point ask the question; am I trying to live the Christian life based on supernatural faith or human emotions? I would suggest that we all try to live by faith, and when we see God working on our behalf, our emotions can’t help but to spring forth with praise and worship for our awesome God! Praise the holy name of Jesus!

Faith Or Emotion

Sometimes I awake in the morning,

And wonder if I’ll make it through the day.

Sometimes I find it hard to smile,

Sometimes it’s so very hard to pray.

It took a long time to understand,

That God is with me if I’m happy or sad.

He’s with me when things are going great,

He’s with me when times are bad.

I’m just a humble child of God,

Dealing with life’s ups and downs.

I am a child of the living God,

If fate smiles and if fate frowns.

My religion isn’t based on emotion,

Or even on the way I feel.

It’s based on my Savior’s love for me,

And His sacrifice on Calvary’s hill.

So if you awake in the morning,

And question God’s love and devotion.

Just remember that the Christian life,

Is based on faith not emotion.
