Thank You Lord

Today is Thanksgiving Day, and what better day to thank the Lord for all that he has done for us, and to testify about his wonderful deeds. The wonderful things that the Lord has done for my wife and I over the years, are two numerous to tell in this short devotional. Therefore, I would like to take this time to thank the Lord for the most important thing that he has ever done for me. It was that day on Calvary’s cross when he gave up his very own life for me. Over 2000 years later, I had an encounter with our risen Lord while driving down the autobahn in Germany, at 200 km/h. It is that exper...

Then Lord You Amaze Me

Can you just imagine what type of world this would be, if everyone used the gift, talents and abilities they have been given, in order to serve others instead of themselves. Paraphrasing John 12: 43, “they prefer the praise of man more than the praise of God.” There are many ways in which people receive the praise of man. It is not just by the applause they receive from others, but it is also by the monetary rewards that they might receive. In other words, when we use the gifts talents and abilities we have received from God, they should be used for God’s glory and not our own. I am not just t...

Bread And Wine

Matthew 6:11 Give us today our daily bread. Today is the Sabbath and I didn’t do any work today, but I did take a load of nonperishable food items to our church, where it will be bagged up and delivered to a few of the homeless sites in this area. The pastor and several deacons we’re on hand to unload the van and take the food items inside. While they were unloading the van a homeless man approached us and asked for a few dollars. The pastor said that he had no money, but he had plenty of food. That wasn’t what the homeless man was looking for, so one of the deacons did give him a few d...

Faith Or Emotion

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him I don’t know when it happened, or what we did to deserve it, but it seems like here lately, based on the verse referenced above, that our faith must have increased somewhat, because God has been so richly pouring out his blessings upon my wife and I. Like I said, I don’t know why, or what we did to deserve it. I suppose it’s because of what the Bible tells us, that God will have mercy upon those he chooses to have mer...

Age Of Darkness

Matthew 10:16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves This month WhisperArt’s focus is on those organizations that look out for the protection, health and welfare of animals. As a matter fact, I will be adding the ASPCA to the list of organizations that WhisperArt supports. When I read the verse referenced above, I wouldn’t say that I am very innocent, but I would say that I am very naïve about the things of the world, and how the world works. When I started thinking and praying about the verse referenced above, my little ...

Return To The Garden

Hebrews 10:16 “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” I submit that before the fall of mankind, while Adam and Eve were still living in the Garden of Eden, they did not possess instincts, because God was providing for all their needs, and they did not have any concerns about their own survival. Therefore, they had no need of instincts. I further submit, that after the fall, God provided them with instincts to help insure their survival outside the Garden of Eden. In other words...

Walking Through Darkness

Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness… I'm .sure that David wrote the 23rd Psalm in his later years after looking back over his life, and realizing that God had been with...
