Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel

Isaiah 7:13-14

.After I first invited Christ into my heart, and started to read and become aware of what was written in the Bible, I remember my surprise when I realized that there were many prophecy’s written in the Old Testament, that spoke of the coming of the Messiah. The above referenced verses is just one of those prophecies. It had the effect of really strengthening my faith. I have noticed over the years that there is not a single thing written in the Bible that doesn’t require faith to believe. It also did not take long for me to realize, that there is a pattern here. The pattern is that God likes to tell us what he is going to do, and then he does it. That’s what prophecies and faith are all about, and God always keeps his promises, and that you can take to the bank. Isaiah gave the prophecy referenced above long ago, not so much for the people who were alive at that time, but rather it was given for those of us who are alive today, so that we might believe that Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us, God incarnate, came to this earth to save mankind from his sin, just like we are told in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever should believe in him, should not perish but have everlasting life.” When Jesus lived and walked upon this earth he gave us an example of the love and grace of God the Father. That love and grace was further exemplified, when Jesus, who lived a sinless life, became a holy lamb, and took upon himself your sins and mine, so that we might one day, except his sacrifice and escape the internal flames of hell. Dear friends, The Bible is indeed the inherit word of God, and what I have just told you is the gospel truth. It is my prayer that during this Christmas season, you too will sense the awesome love and grace of God. I would also like to remind you, and I don’t know why, but God uses people to do his will on earth, and it has been my experience that when we are involved in ministry, then that is when God truly blesses. If you already have Jesus in your heart, then I pray that you will continue to use the gifts, talents and abilities he has given to you, to help build God’s kingdom and to live for him. If you don’t yet know Jesus, then do not be afraid to take this life changing step. Simply step out on faith and invite Christ into your heart, and I assure you, that just as surely as the sun will rise tomorrow, his love and blessings will overcome you, and you will begin to realize the truth as stated in Jeremiah 29:11, “ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Praise the holy name of Jesus!

I heard a sermon about obedience,

About how it should be a thrill.

To step out on faith in service,

When we know that its God’s will.

The preacher talked about Peter.

Who’d been out fishing till dawn.

When he returned to shore he saw Jesus,

Surrounded by a mighty throng.

Jesus ask to use his boat,

So He could preach from just off shore.

Simon Peter humbly obeyed the Lord,

Even though he was tired, hungry, and soar.

After Jesus had spoken to the crowd,

He told Peter to drop his nets.

God showed that when we obey,

His blessings outweigh our regrets.
